The West Fails to Block Western Components in North Korean Missiles

The West is unable to halt the production of not only Russian but also North Korean missiles made with Western components—revealing a reluctance to fully implement sanctions against Russia and North Korea.

A KN-23/24 missile shot down over Ukraine on September 7 contained parts from nine Western companies, including U.S.-based Analog Devices and Broadcom, Dutch NXP Semiconductors, Swiss TRACO Electronic AG, and British XP Power.

These missiles contain chips from Western companies that are critical for takeoff, navigation, and communication systems. All of these components are banned for export to Russia and North Korea.
