The US May Sell Other Long-Range Weapons to Ukraine

The Trump administration is unlikely to agree to sell Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine, as current stocks are intended for the US Navy and other purposes, but it may well provide other long-range missiles.
This was stated to Reuters by a US official on condition of anonymity. The US official and sources familiar with the preparation and delivery of Tomahawk missiles questioned the transfer of these cruise missiles to Ukraine.

The US official stressed that there is no shortage of such strike weapons, hinting that other shorter-range weapons could be supplied to Kyiv. According to him, the US may consider allowing European allies to purchase other long-range weapons and supply them to Ukraine.

The supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could significantly expand its strike capabilities, allowing it to hit targets deep inside Russia, including military bases, logistics hubs, airfields, and command centers that are currently out of reach.

According to Pentagon budget documents, the US Navy, which is the main user of Tomahawk missiles, has purchased 8,959 such missiles to date at an average price of approximately $1.3 million per unit.
The Tomahawk missile has been in production since the mid-1980s. In recent years, production has fluctuated between 55 and 90 missiles per year. According to Pentagon budget data, the US plans to purchase 57 missiles in 2026.

US Vice President Jay D. Vance said that Washington is considering Ukraine’s request for long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, which could strike deep into Russian territory.
