On Monday, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced new military aid to Ukraine, which includes components and missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
Brekelmans stressed that Ukraine currently “needs to strengthen its air defense and ammunition.”
“The Netherlands will provide a package of American weapons (including components for Patriot systems and missiles) worth €500 million. This will help Ukraine protect itself and the rest of Europe from Russian aggression,” he added.
The Dutch defense minister did not provide any further details, including the specifics and timing of the military aid delivery.
Earlier, he confirmed his country’s readiness to co-finance the supply of additional Patriot systems to Ukraine.
