Over $1.2 Billion in Aid to Ukraine

The US State Department has approved two more contracts to supply weapons to Ukraine worth a total of around $200 million, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
One of the contracts provides for the sale of military equipment to Ukraine, repair and technical support services for M777 howitzers, technical assistance, training, instruction, and other related elements of logistical support and program support. The estimated total cost is $104 million. The agency has provided the necessary certifications and notified Congress.
Another contract provides for the provision of transportation and logistics services and related equipment to Ukraine in the amount of approximately $99.5 million.
As is known, the United States and NATO have launched a new mechanism for providing military assistance to Ukraine, PURL, which provides for the financing of American weapons through contributions from partners.
At the same time, it became known that the Netherlands had prepared a €500 million aid package for Ukraine within the framework of PURL, which included components and missiles for the Patriot air defense system.
Sweden, Norway, and Denmark will also jointly allocate about $500 million to the NATO initiative to supply Ukraine with American weapons.
