Finland has decided to send a counter-drone contingent to Denmark after a series of incidents with unidentified drones.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb wrote about this in X. He noted that Finland fully supports Denmark in its efforts to protect airspace and counter hybrid activities.
“To make this support concrete, Finland has decided today to send a counter-drone contingent to Denmark. The Finnish Border Guard will also provide support with its forces and means,” he added.
Stubb called it “an excellent example of concrete cooperation between the countries of Northern Europe, which we need today.”
“In the future, we will continue to coordinate our approaches to countering hybrid threats and contribute to the development of capabilities in Europe,” the Finnish president added.
France, Germany, and Sweden are reported to be sending troops and anti-drone systems to Denmark to bolster security at European summits in Copenhagen this week.
Subsequently, the UK declared its intention to dispatch anti-drone equipment to Denmark.
