Russian drones attack Poland and Romania. Russian fighter jets violate Estonian airspace, and drones provoke incidents around airports in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
What is going on?
In fact, Putin’s mafia is starting to bluff. It is trying to scare Europeans by pushing the myth of an invincible Russia or the second most powerful army in the world.
Until 2022, many in the world really believed that the Russian Federation’s army was powerful and invincible. This was facilitated by Russia’s successes in Syria. At that time, Russian ground forces and aviation, supported by Assad’s troops, were able to repel the Islamic State. But the forces were unequal. The armed formations of the Islamic State were armed mainly with small arms, they had very few anti-tank weapons, no armored vehicles, no factories of their own to produce weapons and equipment, an extremely poor material and technical base, no air defense systems, no missile forces, and, most importantly, no air force. All this is understandable. And in such conditions—complete air superiority—Putin and Assad managed to regain control. And even then, not everywhere.
Conclusion: the Russians were able to win because they were fighting an enemy that was significantly inferior to them in terms of military equipment, weapons, logistics, and support.
In early 2022, anti-government protests began in Kazakhstan, and the local president’s power was shaken. Putin sent rapid response troops—special forces and paratroopers—to his aid. Peaceful and unarmed people had no choice but to flee and stop protesting. But the whole world saw footage of well-equipped Russian soldiers who, like regional gendarmes, supported the influence of dictator Putin everywhere.
That was the case until February 24, 2022.
Large-scale invasion of Ukraine
All Russian and Western political scientists and military experts confidently claimed that Putin would capture Ukraine within three days or three weeks. The Russians were overly confident in their invincibility. Western analysts were guided by intelligence reports about the extremely high level of penetration of Russian agents of influence and Russian special services employees into the highest government positions in Ukraine. Plus, there was tacit support for Putin’s actions from some Western political groups. Such were the predictions and expectations.
But, as Napoleon said, any battle plan begins to change immediately after the first shot is fired.
From the first days of the offensive, the Russians encountered extremely fierce resistance. Both from the Ukrainian armed forces and from the entire population. The Ukrainian military destroyed numerous Russian columns. Peaceful Ukrainians, hunters, soccer fans, factory workers, townspeople, and villagers took up arms and shot Russians in the forests.
After suffering defeat, Putin’s military leadership changed its method of warfare. They began to deploy troops in an offensive according to military canons. In some places, they had some success. But after a while, they lost the previously captured Kherson and Kharkiv regions.
The Ukrainian military managed to sink the flagship of the Russian fleet, the cruiser Moskva. What a symbolic name and event, isn’t it?
And even more. The Ukrainians single-handedly destroyed 25% of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. In doing so, they forced Russia to relocate its entire Black Sea Fleet from occupied Crimea to the Russian port of Novorossiysk.
Somehow, imperceptibly but inexorably, everyone began to realize that the phrases “We will capture Kyiv in three days” and “We will capture Ukraine in three weeks” were lies. It was a bluff.
Putin’s red lines
The Putin regime has long understood that in any difficult situation, it is necessary to maintain an impassive expression. To pretend that everything is fine. Once, he even allowed himself to say: “We haven’t started yet.” This is how he wants to show that Russia still has military power, even though its losses in the war have exceeded 1,000,000 killed. But the Moscow propaganda machine is working. And with its lies, it is trying to impress not only Russians but also Western observers.
According to military doctrine, Putin can use nuclear weapons in the event of an attack on Russian territory. And what do we see? Ukrainian troops are systematically striking Russian warehouses and oil refineries 1,000-1,400 km deep inside Russia. Ukrainians have destroyed 30% of strategic aviation — the air component of the so-called nuclear triad — with the help of drones. Ukrainians continue to strike Russia wherever they can. And what? Nothing! Putin can’t do anything. He is inadequate — he pretends that everything is under control and continues to bluff.
In August 2024, the Ukrainian armed forces invaded Russian territory in the Kursk region. The goal of the invasion was to draw some of the Russians away from the eastern flank and damage Putin’s reputation. Fighting on Russian territory has been going on for over six months. And what? Nothing! Putin was forced to ask the North Korean dictator for soldiers because he no longer has enough of his own. But not for free — Putin supplies Kim with nuclear and missile technology. And only in this way, together, dictator Putin and dictator Kim Jong-un were able to drive the Ukrainians out of Russian territory.
The whole world can see that Russia is weaker than ever. Russia is easy to destroy. All that is needed is to make the appropriate political decision.
International circumstances
Ukrainian defenders continue to bravely defend their homeland. They are slowly retreating, but inflicting huge losses on the Russians. Over 1,000,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and wounded. Ukraine has destroyed 370 Russian military aircraft, over 330 helicopters, over 10,000 tanks, over 20,000 infantry fighting vehicles, and a ton of other military equipment.
And global and regional players can’t help but notice this.
Seizing the moment, Erdogan decided to resolve the Syrian issue in his favor. With Turkey’s support, Syrian rebels overthrew the Assad regime in two weeks. Assad asked for help, but Putin was unable to assist him. Russian troops are exhausted by the aggressive war in Ukraine — they can neither fight nor influence anything else. Assad had to flee Syria in a hurry.
Azerbaijan also drove Armenia out of the territories it had occupied. Armenia, as a member of the CSTO, is essentially an ally of Russia, but Moscow could not help it in any way. All its troops are engaged in Ukraine.
The technical backwardness of Putin’s regime
This Russian-Ukrainian war has demonstrated the full extent of the degradation of Putin’s regime. Previously, the Russians claimed to have created their own “Skolkovo” in response to America’s Silicon Valley. And they were very pleased with this. In reality, Putin’s officials stole billions of rubles through corruption schemes. As for immediate scientific and technical solutions, the Russian military-industrial complex is incapable of anything.
Even Iran! Iran, which has been under sanctions for decades, has been able to manufacture missiles and drones. Putin buys Iranian Shahids, made of shit and sticks. Because in his “Skolkovo,” officials do nothing but steal money.
The same is true of North Korea: despite being globally isolated, it can supply Russia with artillery shells, guns, and missiles. Russian industry is in deep decline. The Russian military-industrial complex is only capable of repairing old Soviet tanks. Even then, new night vision devices and thermal imaging sights are supplied by China.
It is only thanks to the help of Iran, North Korea, and China that Russia is still capable of waging war—it simply does not have the strength to do so on its own.
Previously, the Russians carried out attacks using armored vehicles under the cover of tanks. Such attacks are still taking place today, but they are becoming less frequent. Most attacks are carried out on foot. There have been increasing cases of Russians storming Ukrainian positions in civilian vehicles!
Another innovation in the Russian army was the use of horses and donkeys to transport ammunition. All this was due to a lack of military transport.
Russia suffered its greatest losses in the previous year, 2024. As a result of senseless massive attacks, 450,000 Russians were killed and wounded. In terms of military achievements, only 17% of the territory of the Donetsk region was captured during the year. Plus the loss of territories in the Kursk region.
Russia is weaker than ever. Ukrainians are also dying, but they are inflicting much greater damage on the Russians. Now Ukraine needs international assistance more than ever. To survive and regain its territories.
Putin is trying to intimidate Western politicians, exploiting the differences between them so that they reduce military aid to Ukrainians. Otherwise, Russia will not survive and its economy will collapse.
Trump was right when he said that Russia is a colossus with feet of clay, a paper tiger. The time has come to destroy this remnant of the communist empire and liberate the enslaved peoples!
