The Polish prosecutor’s office has submitted to the court an indictment against six members of an organized criminal group that allegedly carried out sabotage on behalf of foreign intelligence.
This indictment was reported by the spokesman of the National Prosecutor’s Office, Przemysław Nowak, PAP wrote.
Nowak stated that the prosecutor from the Lower Silesian Regional Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office, which focuses on Combating Organized Crime and Corruption, filed an indictment against six members of an organized criminal group with the Voivodeship Court in Wrocław on August 6The indictment contains charges related, among other things, to the organization and conduct of sabotage acts on Poland’s territory, trafficking in weapons and drugs, and other criminal offenses.
The accused include three Poles: Kamil K., David P., and Lukash K., as well as three Belarusians: Stepan K., Andrey B., and Yaroslav S. The indictment concerns, among other things, arson attacks in Gdynia and Marki.
The National Prosecutor’s Office reported that the perpetrators carried out all arson attacks by throwing so-called “Molotov cocktails” at buildings or other objects.
Stepan K. and David P. pleaded not guilty, the report says. Andrey B., Yaroslav S., and Lukash K. partially admitted their guilt, and Kamil K. admitted all the charges against him.
According to the National Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation into this case was initiated on February 1, 2024, and was based on information from the special services about the suspicion that Ukrainian citizen Serhiy S. had committed sabotage and subversive acts in the territory of Wroclaw.
The prosecutor filed an indictment in this case in October 2024. Serhiy S. was sentenced to 8 years in prison for preparing sabotage. The case involved the arson of buildings in Wrocław.
Evidence obtained during the investigation indicated suspicion that an organized criminal group was operating in Poland, which was engaged in recruiting and organizing sabotage activities in the interests of foreign intelligence services.
The aim of this activity was to instigate social unrest and instill a sense of powerlessness in state authorities.
The arson of the warehouse in Gdańsk and the pallet warehouse in Marki is an act of sabotage committed in the interests of foreign intelligence services and is punishable by imprisonment for a term ranging from 10 years to life imprisonment.
On February 14, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the deportation of a Russian citizen suspected of coordinating sabotage against Poland, the United States, and other allies.
