Macron stressed that Europe is entering a new era.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europeans must “increase their military efforts” in response to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

He said this while communicating with Internet users on his social networks. President Macron also answered questions from social media users about Ukraine and Russia’s threat to Europe for an hour on a live broadcast.

Macron stressed that Europe is “entering a new era,” adding that there are risks against the backdrop of US efforts to reach an agreement with Russia.

“We Europeans must increase our military efforts. We, the French, have a strong army, the most effective in Europe – we will have to strengthen our defense and our security,” the French president said.

Asked about European defense cooperation, Macron said that “it will be very difficult to have a single army,” but at the same time stressed that he wanted to “strengthen the European pillar of security and defense” and “shared capabilities” for Europe. To do this, he said, he wants to propose “large-scale joint European financing in the coming weeks to buy and produce more” in the defense sector.

France proves its support for Ukraine every day, not only with words but also with deeds. Just yesterday, French Rafale fighter jets intercepted two Russian planes off the coast of Latvia. This was reported by the Joint Staff of the French Armed Forces on the social network X. It is noted that the Il-78 and Il-20M aircraft did not comply with international aviation regulations.

The example of France’s consistent policy is indicative of European countries.
